International Entrepreneurs Meetup – Guest Speaker: Ian Mashiter

Inviting all our members of International Entrepreneur Meetup for our monthly meetup on July 21 from 6:30-8:30pm at Plug Cambridge, 618 Cambridge Street.
Our guest speaker, Ian Mashiter will be sharing with us some of his thoughts on entrepreneurship. He will give us a speech on “how to build a strong team while avoiding heartache”
We are told that a great team is the key factor in determining entrepreneurial success. Furthermore, we are told that investors will invest in a “A” team with a “B” idea. In this session, Ian Mashiter will share how to build your “dream team” and how to avoid key mistakes.
Ian is currently a Senior lecturer at Boston University where he teaches entrepreneurship to graduate and undergraduate students. He is also Director of Entrepreneurship Activities for BU. In this capacity he oversees the programs at the BUzz Lab, which he founded as BU’s center for entrepreneurship. Programs that the BUzz Lab runs include competitions, an incubator and start-up accelerator programs.
He is also an active angel investor with Hub Angel Investment Group, LLC and Launchpad Venture Group where he evaluates start-ups for potential investment and provides advice to portfolio companies. As part of his active involvement in the Boston Start-Up scene he is on the advisory board of The Capital Network and is a judge and mentor at Mass Challenge.
Previously, Ian Mashiter was an entrepreneurial executive with more than 28 years of high technology experience. Mr. Mashiter raised $100 million in venture funding since 1996. Over his career, Ian has served as a board member, chief executive officer and co-Founder of such innovative companies as Quarry Technologies, Ennovate Networks, Dymec Kinetic. Nimbit and BMS.
